BARSKA Quick Access Biometric Rifle Safe Video Review
Dimensions and Capacity
On the inside, it has 4 barrel rest positions. The outer dimensions are 8.6″ x 9.8″ x 52.17″ and the inside dimensions are: 6.3″ x 9.7″ x 52″. These measurements make it slightly smaller than some of Barska’s other rifle safe offerings, and at only 66 pounds in weight, it will need to be bolted down for security.
Biometric Fingerprint Gun Safe Technology
The Quick Access Biometric Rifle Safe is convenient and opens at the touch of a finger, but only yours! The safe recognizes only the fingerprints you select and does not recognize any others. It has the memory capacity for 120 fingerprints.
The safe offers a manual three point solid dead bolt locking system that can be quickly opened with one hand turn motion.
How to close/open the door?
- Close safe door.
- Turn handle counter-clockwise to lock the safe.
- Press and release Wake-Up Button
- Place a registered finger on Fingerprint Scanner.
- Turn handle clockwise to open the safe.
To maximize the security and performance of the safe, you must keep Fingerprint Scanner clean; use a dry cloth to remove any smudges or prints off the Fingerprint Scanner after each use. Barska advises to test registered fingerprints every 6 months.
Construction and Other Features
The body material is steel with black finish, but is not fireproofed. The safe includes a set of emergency back-up keys, an external battery pack, and mounting hardware.
Factory pre-drilled anchor points allow you to permanently secure the safe to the floor or wall with the included mounting hardware. It’s powered by four AA batteries (included), which can last up to 1 year.

There were many reviews to check, so I started with the most recent ones and found the one from S. Mazzara. He explained that he was looking for a storage system for his weapons with a little more security than “hidden in the closet.”
He was attracted to this Barska model for its combination of technology, capacity (needed storage for 2 shotguns and an AR-15 patrol rifle), and small footprint.

On the downside, Mazzara and other reviewers have noted the safe seems smaller than the pictures makes it out to be. To store guns with pistol grips or mounted optics, you may only be able to fit 2 or 3 guns comfortably.
The general consensus is that the Barska Quick Access Biometric Rifle Safe is a strong value for the money, priced significantly less than the larger options.
Quick Access Biometric Rifle Safe Alternatives
Barska makes a pair of larger biometric rifle safes that might be worthy of your consideration. These models come in large and extra large, but are not as highly rated and are more expensive than this one.
